This policy explains what information is collected through this website and in the course of providing psychological services, how it is used, and your rights in relation to it.
I handle personal information in accordance with the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and the Australian Privacy Principles (APPs), and, in relation to health information, the Health Records Act 2001 (Vic)
Through the enquiry form on this website I collect the information you choose to provide, which may include your name, email address, phone number, and any details you include in your message about what you would like help with.
When you visit the website, some technical information is also collected automatically through cookies and similar technologies, such as your device and browser type, approximate location, the pages you view, and how you arrived at the site (for example, by clicking a Google ad). This is used to understand how the site is used and to measure the performance of advertising.
I do not use your information for unrelated purposes, and I do not sell your personal information to anyone.
This website uses Google Tag Manager to manage measurement tools, which may include Google Analytics and Google Ads conversion tracking. These tools use cookies to record actions such as submitting the enquiry form or tapping the phone number, so I can see which ads and pages lead to enquiries. This data is reported in aggregate and is not used to identify you personally.
You can control or disable cookies through your browser settings, and you can opt out of personalised Google advertising at adssettings.google.com. Google’s handling of data is governed by its own privacy policy.
Your information may be shared with trusted service providers who help operate this practice and website — for example, the service that delivers enquiry-form submissions to my inbox, and Google for analytics and advertising measurement. These providers are only permitted to use your information to provide their service.
I may also disclose information where required or authorised by law, or where necessary to lessen or prevent a serious threat to a person’s life, health or safety, consistent with my professional obligations.
If you become a client, any health information collected during our work together is treated as confidential and is kept separately from website enquiry data. It is managed in accordance with the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth), the Health Records Act 2001 (Vic) and the professional and ethical standards that apply to registered psychologists. The specifics of how clinical records are handled are explained to you when you commence sessions.
I take reasonable steps to protect personal information from misuse, loss, and unauthorised access, including through secure systems and access controls. Information is retained only for as long as needed for the purposes described above, or as required by law and professional record-keeping standards, and is then securely destroyed or de-identified.
You may request access to the personal information I hold about you, and ask for it to be corrected if it is inaccurate, out of date or incomplete. To make a request, please contact me using the details below. There may be limited circumstances where access cannot be granted, in which case I will explain why.
If you have a concern about how your personal information has been handled, please contact me first so I can address it. If you are not satisfied with my response, you may contact the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (OAIC) at oaic.gov.au.
